Cavity Wall Insulation

Un-insulated cavity walls cost you money. Up to 35% of the heat produced in your home is lost through the walls.

The good news is that cavity wall insulation is quick, clean and relatively inexpensive and it could save you £130 - £160 a year on your fuel bills.

It will create an even temperature in your home, help prevent condensation on the walls and ceilings and can also reduce the amount of heat building up inside your home during summer hot spells.

"The proof of the success of cavity wall insulation is the large number of householders who enjoy its trouble-free benefits. Over five million homes already have cavity wall insulation."

Cavity wall insulation is injected into the cavity between the inner and outer leaves of brickwork that make up the external wall of your property. The installers will normally insulate your home completely from the outside.

Free Insulation insulating your home is absolutely free if you or your partner are over 70 years of age or you fall into one of the qualifying benefits as shown on the Grants & Criteria page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is it going to be costly?
A: No. If you are not eligible for free cavity wall insulation, an average grant aided installation can cost as little as £199.00 and you'll find that, with the savings you make on your heating bills, cavity wall insulation will normally pay for itself in less than 2 years.

Q: How long will it take?
A: Between two to three hours for a three bedroom semi-detached house.

Q: Will it make a mess?
A: No. The insulation is injected from the outside, so the installers will not be working in the house.

Q: What do we use to insulate your home?
A: The material used will be glass mineral wool. It will be fully accredited by the British Board of Agrément and guaranteed by the Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency (CIGA) , and the work will be carried out by one of our fully trained and certified installation teams.

Q: Will the work be guaranteed?
A: If you use Homewarm, the work will be guaranteed for 25 years by the Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency (CIGA) .
